Both sides of the Books

"Where I am from? I can't go back because...."

"Why not?" Tai asked softly. He looked slightly worried as he pulled his coat further around her shoulders.

"My father was murder, my brother went missing so my mother moved me to Japan and I'm in this new magical school in which I'm the only person in this Munashii group..."

Tai nodded silently "I'm sorry for your loss" he mumbled softly not sure what to say "I'm sure you'll get used to it"

"I'm use to the social isolation so far..." she mumbles.

Tai watched her silently. he nodded turning to look out over the bookshelves.

"I suck at everything I do." she mumbles. She ran her fingers with her hair. "Can't even kill myself..."

"Maybe because you weren't ment too" Tai murmured softly turning to look at her with a look of slight intrest.

"I feel like I'm losing my mind," she mumbles. "I can't sleep without nightmares so I avoid sleeping." She rubs her eyes. "I'm always feeling cold. Might be sick..."

Tai looked at her silently a look of worry reflected in his eyes. "I'm sorry" he murmured softly. He slipped a necklace into her hand "Keep away nightmares I promice"

"Why give this to me?" she asks. "Don't you need it or something?"

"I'll be fine without it" Tai said kindly. He smiled softly. His dark green eeys speaking

"Okay," She leans closer against him. Just to enjoy how he felt.

Tai bit his lip unsure of her. "Okay" He murmured reaching up to stroak her firey red hair

She found herself drifting off. Her eyes beginning to flutter shut.

Tai watched her silently stroaking her hair. His dark reddish brown hair falling into his eyes as he watched her. He found that he felt oddly calmed by her presence and was confused imensly by it.

Cassidy sound fell into sleep. Her arms found their way around Tai's waist. The necklace he had given her securely on her neck. Her head rested on his lap.

Tai stroaked her hair, his eyes closing as her did so. He felt calmed by her presence. He took a deep breath looking down at her hoping she would sleep well.

Cassidy smiles slightly as she slept. Her arms locked around Tai. She was having good dreams for the first time since her father died.

Tai stroaked her hair. smiling softly seeing her smiling. he moved slightly moving to pick up a book to read.

In her dream, Cassidy was in a meadow filled with silver and crimson flowers. She was wearing white dress that went up to her knees. She was lying down bare foot. She was looking at a faceless young man.

Tai hummed softly a song his mother once sung to him when he'd wake up from nightmares in the middle of the night. He held her as he continued reading. He felt at peace with her so close, which was odd considering he didn't like people around him usually.

Cassidy woke up, listening to Tai as he hum and read. She blushes to how close they were. She smiles for the first time in a year. She felt her hand travel up his arm.

"What time is it?" she asks.

Tai smiled slightly seeing her wake up. He jumped up slightly feeling her hand on his arm. He looked down at his watch squinting at it slightly to make out the numbers.
"A bit past 4" he replied hesitantly.

"I think I should go back to the school now." Cassidy mumbles. She got up from the couch, fixing up her uniform skirt and her fiery red hair. She was feeling hungry. "I guess I'll see you in school...which house are you in?
